Tabitha Smith is the real name of a good mutant from the X-Men series who also goes by Meltdown. Maybe a little too much foreshadowing for the toddler age? Tabitha is a wonderful name (#759) that's also featured on my Biblical Baby Names In The Top 1000 list and my Human Names With Animal Meanings list. If Tabby is a little too cat-like for you, Tab is another possible nickname.

The name Ororo seems to have been coined for the X-Men series. Ororo Munroe is the real name of Storm. It would be a bold choice for a real world baby namer! In my opinion, Aurora would be prettier.

St. John Allerdyce is Pyro, the fire-manipulating mutant from X-Men. I can't tell you how much I love this name! It is not pronounced the way that it looks. It's not said "Saint John". It's actually pronounced Sin-jin, similar to singeing. Get it? Pyro, singeing? Very punny. I like it! There are other, more phonetic spellings such as Sinjin and Sinjen. I'd love to see this name used more!
Origin: English from Greek
